Learn More About How To Astral Projection
I once had a friend who always replied, unless I see you on the astral plane, whenever I said goodbye. I had no idea what she was talking about. Later, I did a bit of reading on astral projection and found it fascinating. There are many believers and just as many skeptics on the notion of out of body experiences. Claims have been made for thousands of years of people traveling to a place outside their consciousness. Some do this when they are awake, others dream and some have tried hallucinogenic drugs to achieve it.
Scientific tests in laboratory conditions have been conducted to ascertain the validity of such claims. A real location has been chosen and the subject then travels in their mind to the designated destination and describes it in detail. They are either telling the truth or some lapse in security has given the information. Perhaps subtle body language has given the game away? Some astral projection researchers say that there is a form of telepathy going on or an ability to plug in to a collective consciousness that we all share.
I have had vivid dreams, and I have read of others sharing the experience, of walking outside in the air, high above the buildings with a feeling of floating. Was this simply a dream, a memory or did I really travel outside my physical body? The purpose of such experiences is unclear; I certainly didn't see anything significant on my nocturnal travels.
There are numerous reports of people having out of body experiences whilst they lie in hospital. People speak of looking down at themselves as doctors try to jump-start their hearts. They talk of a tunnel and a white light at the end. Strangely, they report that they see whatever prophet is associated with the religion they have been brought up in. So, if they are Christians, they see Christ and if they are Muslims, they see Mohammed. Others say that they see relatives who have passed on. When they return to their bodies, they startle the medical staff by repeating their exact conversation. This sort of astral projection is almost always described as a pleasant experience, which is a comfort to the rest of us.
The idea of a parallel world, especially a welcoming one, is reassuring. Contemplating astral projection however brings up more questions than answers. We cannot know how much of it is wishful thinking or actual reality. Who will be waiting at the end of the tunnel for atheists? In the meantime, I will try to direct my astral wanderings and try to bring some sort of scientific method into my dreams or whatever they are.
